How Recent IRS Changes May Affect You…Lambda Legal Offers Public Conference Calls

March 1st at 7PM PST and March 16th at 7PM PST

Recent IRS changes may affect you…

The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) has announced that it will apply community property laws to California, Washington, and Nevada registered domestic partners and California same-sex spouses to reflect “income-splitting”—in the same way that it applies those laws to different-sex married couples who file their federal income tax returns separately.

This change may affect your tax return. To help understand the new rules, Lambda Legal has developed and posted an FAQ and will be hosting two public teleconferences with a CPA and attorney on March 1st at 7:00 pm PST and March 16th at 7:00 pm PDT.

These two teleconferences are a part of our Coast-2-Coast:Hear it From the Experts! series that we host year-round for current members and supporters of Lambda Legal.

Due to the important nature of this issue, these calls will be open to both members and non-members.

Download the FAQ and RSVP for one or both of the calls today!

Note: In order to facilitate these calls to a wider audience, dial-in information will be emailed 24-hours prior to each call. ONLY individuals registered in advance will receive the information. Register Today!

Please feel free to share this information with others who may be affected by these changes in California, Nevada and Washington. Individuals can download Lambda Legal’s Community Property FAQ and RSVP for a teleconferece by visiting http://www.lambdalegal.org/irs-rules
