Deb L. Kinney
Deb received her B.A. in Sociology from the University of California, Berkeley, and her J.D. from the New College School of Law. Deb lectures on estate planning frequently and has been asked to speak at many conferences including Stanford University’s Planned Giving seminar, the Northern California Planned Giving Seminar, the Northern California Financial Planners Association and the California Judges Annual Conference.
Deb has been very active within the LGBT community, volunteering with many local organizations and also she leads seminars regularly on estate planning and legal rights for the LGBT community. She is a known resource for emerging issues pertaining to the Domestic Partner Rights and Responsibilities Act, more commonly known as AB205, and now issues relating to marriage pursuant to the recent California Supreme Court Decision.
Deb currently serves on the board of Horizons Foundation, a 25 year old LGBT community foundation based in San Francisco and is serving as co-chair of the Planned Giving Committee. She is also on the board of Equality California and is serving as the co-chair of the Finance Committee for the No on 8 Marriage Issues PAC.
Deb is a member of the Trust and Estate Section of the ABA, the California Bar Association, the San Francisco Bar Association, Bay Area Lawyers for Individual Freedom and the Golden Gate Business Association.
Deb has two daughters, age 10 and 20.
