Naomi, who is a Sonoma County native, received her B.A. in Environmental Studies from Mills College in 2000, and her J.D. from UC Berkeley’s Boalt Hall School of Law in 2008. Prior to attending law school, Naomi was a city planner in Petaluma, St. Helena, and Sebastopol. During law school, Naomi focused her studies on laws related to the recognition and protection of LGBT families and their financial assets. To this end, Naomi authored a research paper regarding the practical impact on California Registered Domestic Partners of SB 1827: The Income Tax Equity Act of 2006. She received High Honors for the paper and was invited to give a guest lecture on the subject in Herma Hill Kay’s California Community Property class at Boalt. During law school, Naomi also completed an externship at the National Center for Lesbian Rights, and worked as a law clerk for DLKLawGroup.

After being admitted to the California Bar in December 2008, Naomi worked as an associate in the estate planning group at Friedemann Goldberg LLP. In addition to her work drafting trusts, which incorporated sophisticated estate planning techniques and tax strategies, and guiding clients through probate and trust administrations, Naomi co-authored an article titled Estate Planning for RDPs: Navigating the State and Federal Conflict, which will be published in the forthcoming issue of the California Trusts and Estates Quarterly.

Naomi is a member of the Trust and Estate Section of the ABA, the California Bar Association, the Sonoma County Bar Association, and Bay Area Lawyers for Individual Freedom.
